Dr. Philip Perlman is a 1983 graduate of SUNY Downstate Medical Center and completed his Otolaryngology training at Albany Medical Center in 1988. Here he was well trained in all aspects of the field, including pediatric ENT, head and neck surgery and in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery from its infancy in the late 1980’s. From Albany, Dr. Perlman went to Florida where he furthered his education by participating in a Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship, and since has become board certified by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has been practicing in Manhasset, NY since 1989.
Dr. Perlman currently treats patients medically and surgically in all aspects of ear, nose and throat disorders, and in his practice enjoys working with all age groups. Dr. Perlman has participated in many educational and political activities. He has taken many advanced courses in Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Balloon Sinuplasty and Laser Surgery, and has participated in a pediatric lecture series. In 2007 he was one of the first surgeons to perform balloon sinuplasty at St. Francis Hospital (see related article). In 2003 Dr. Perlman was appointed Chief of the Division of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, NY. In 2007 his Division at St. Francis Hospital was voted by US News and World Report to be in the top 50 hospitals in the nation. Dr. Perlman is widely published and has made presentations on many aspects of Otolaryngology, including swallowing disorders and facial cosmetic techniques.
